Thanks for all the gifts! Autumn loves tearing paper and opening presents now. (We had to convince her that she wasn't going to get in trouble.) Now we are off to Jon's parents house for Christmas dinner. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!

I don't want two front teeth for Christmas

Autumn cut her second tooth last Saturday. She bit me last night for the first time but promises to never do it again.

Bethany, Scott, and Celeste stopped to visit on their way back from Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake. We had a wonderful pizza party and really good cake and ice cream. Earlier in the day my visiting teacher brought me doughnuts and juice for breakfast.

All Autumn wants for Christmas...

Is her two front teeth. I mean her one front tooth! Jonathan and I should have recognized the telltale beard of drool that Autumn has been wearing for the last couple of days. Last night I noticed her right central incisor poking out through her bottom gum. Scott and Bethany verified that she was indeed teething.

Visit with Grandma and Grandpa Burtenshaw. Jon's parents stopped there at the same time so we could take a four generation picture. They were on their way to visit the childhood home of Bernice Burtenshaw (Grandpa Burtenshaw's mom) in Mexico.

Ras and Bernice Burtenshaw. Ras was a brick maker. The family lived briefly in Bluewater, NM where Grandpa Burtenshaw was born. I imagine that the lime kiln located near Bluewater on the way to the Zuni mountains was where Ras worked. Just a guess. We often stopped by it to look for petrified wood, christmas trees, and indian ruins when I was a kid.

Bernice grew up in Colonia Diaz, a mormon colony in Mexico, which is now deserted. We wish Kaylene and David luck in finding it!

Happy One Year Anniversary!

We have had the most fantastic year. We were married November 22, 2008. Jonathan graduated with his PhD and started working at the Space Dynamics Lab. I quit working in June. Autumn was born in September. We've enjoyed family trips from Yellowstone Park to Monticello. Jonathan even took a trip to Washington D.C. for work.

Currently, we are all doing well. Autumn is growing big and strong. She is a jewel in our family. Jonathan is a leader in his group at work. They trust him and rely on him to do the hardest parts of their project. We manage to have dinner together every night even if it isn't until 8pm. Amy is thrilled to be a "stay-at-home" mom and relishes the idea that it is harder work than what her co-workers are doing at the lab. Most of all she is so grateful for the wonderful husband and father that Jonathan is. She feels blessed every single day.
