Happy Halloween!

Happy Birthday Autumn

Autumn loves being 3.  She's a wonderful big sister and a budding artist.  She currently likes Winnie the Pooh the most.  Her favorite dessert is ice cream (aka "appon" - a word that she made up.)  She finished potty training quite nicely after Girl's Camp, but she still likes to get a treat after she goes.  She worries about spiders.  She loves vacations, cousins, and swimming pools.

Happy Mother's Day!

For Mother's Day, Jon, Autumn, and Calvin got me a bird feeder-bird bath-planter-with-solar light.  Isn't it cool!  At church I got a geranium.  My in-laws got me the second Lisa Mangum book.  (I got the first one for guessing Calvin's due date, but that's another story.)  Best of all, Calvin started saying ma-ma-ma-ma-ma for the first time today!!!

Since my children were sick during "Easters" this year, I took some pictures at the temple to make up for it.

At the close Christmas Eve, after gleefully filling the stockings with oranges and other treats, Jon and I sat together on the couch in the glow of the Christmas tree lights.  Calvin sat calmly on my lap and just I a began to tell my hubby how much I loved him, a warm oozy liquid began pouring like molten lava out of the back of Calvin's diaper and all over my hand and pants.  After the eruption was over, which seemed to last several minutes, we quickly assessed the damage.  Luckily the liquid was slow moving enough that it hadn't hit the couch yet.  We all got cleaned up, but the serene Christmas moment was gone forever.  I am grateful to have cherished Christmas memories like this one, even if they aren't glamorous.

Yesterday we drove down to Salt Lake to meet up with Jon's parents and his sister who was visiting from Washington.  We walked around Temple Square in the bitter cold.  Calvin and Autumn were both bundled up pretty warm in new coats.  They both enjoyed seeing their cousin who just learned to walk on this trip.

We stood in line to eat at the Lion House Pantry with lots of people who were also going to watch the Tabernacle Christmas concert.  We had a nice dinner.  As we walked back to our cars we got to see all the temple lights.

For my birthday we had homemade pizza with sourdough crust and Moroccan orange cake for dessert.

Today Calvin was lying on his stomach with one hand under him. He rolled from his stomach to almost his back with one quick motion. He is 5 weeks old.
