Spies like us

Autumn and I noticed a guy in our backyard messing with the utility box. We were suspicious until we saw his truck parked out front. He gets points for not smashing my lilac bush, but I will be careful where I put any tomato bushes next year.

Two Months Old

Today Autumn enjoyed playing in her AquaTunnel.

It has plastic fish that play songs and a blow-up ball with a rattle inside.

She got excited and kicked it over with her feet.

Autumn's Blessing Day

Thing 1 and Thing 2

Autumn enjoys her talking Cat in the Hat. She enjoys her Thing 1 and Thing 2 dolls even more. Thing 1 laughs when you press his tummy. Thing 2 does not have sound capability. Hearing Thing 1 laugh makes Autumn very happy. Last Saturday I packed the diaper bag with toys I thought Autumn would enjoy during the evening session of stake conference. During the meeting I pulled out some of the toys to entertain Autumn. (She can't hold toys yet. She only looks at them.) When I pulled out her Thing doll Jon looked over at the doll to see what the number on its tummy was. We realized at that moment that I had brought Thing 1, the Thing that made noise. It could go off at anytime. It would ruin the meeting and cause us great embarrassment. To our relief it did not go off before we detected it and I learned my lesson. Be sure to check which Thing is in your diaper bag before you go to church.

Sunday Nap

Autumn and I were taking an unsuspecting Sunday nap when Daddy framed us (in this picture.) Autumn's seven week report is this: I can hold a binky in my mouth with my fist. I can also put the binky back in my mouth when it is close enough. I rolled onto my side while on the changing table. Later, with some assistance from gravity, I rolled off the other changing table into my pack-n-play. I was kind of trapped but I didn't cry. Silly Mommy was going to get a warm wash cloth. I'm learning how to blow spit bubbles. (I hadn't displayed much spit prior to this, just spit-up.) I like to look at the tv when Mommy watches it. I can also turn my body in the direction I want to look when being held. I got to go to Stake Conference at the USU Spectrum on my seven week birthday. I slept through it but I hear that eleven university and family stakes were there to listen to President Eyring and others speak in person. Mommy's favorite part was the 800 member choir that anyone from the student stakes could join. Her second cousin was conducting them. I'm looking forward to my baby blessing Nov. 1 in my ward.

Week Six Report

Here are some exciting events in Autumn's life this week. Autumn's parents finally realized that 10:30pm bedtime is not what's best for a newborn. They started putting her to bed at 8pm and she automatically started sleeping through the night (5 hour stretches at least). Autumn has started being awake for various outings without fussing. She went to WalMart awake and on Saturday her parents took her on the hike at Spring Hollow Campground where Daddy proposed to Mommy. Today she was awake and happy throughout Sacrament Meeting. Autumn can turn her head to look any direction to follow people and sounds with her gaze. She can hold her head up by herself -mostly. Today Autumn and Mommy invented a game where (on command) Autumn slides across the changing table by pushing off Mommy's hands with her feet. Autumn's baby acne is almost gone now. She has a lot of dimples, dimples on all her knuckles, etc. Autumn loves her daddy. He can get her calm in any situation except extreme hunger.
