Meet Mesa and Topanga

Some people name their children. Others name their cars. Our mountain bikes have names.

It's not hard to name your bicycle when it comes with a cool name decaled on the frame. Notice Jonathan's fancy, smancy bike seat.

Jonathan and I decided to go ride along the Top of Utah Marathon route and cheer for the runners the other Saturday. After cheering for plenty of people we decided to ride up to Providence Canyon and back along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail to Logan.

Jonathan looks happy in this photo because it's the first time he'd ridden on the "trial" that day and his bike seat was still attached. The rest of the story is that after our adventure I realized that my keys had fallen out of my pocket on our ride. Included in the set was my only car key! That afternoon, Jonathan patiently rode back alone along a several hour route looking for my keys. The bike seat that I had admired earlier in the day decided to brake off and Jonathan had to ride standing up the entire way back. Later we learned how to get a key replacement from the car dealership, but that's a story for another day.
